Fungus gnats are one of the most frustrating pests in a mushroom grow room. One minute you spot a single fly, and within days they’ve squeezed through the polyfill in your monotub’s breather holes and are walking contaminated feet across your freshly colonised mycelium. Fly paper and sticky traps help a little, but rarely enough to stop gnats laying larvae in your substrate or eating through cap veils on your fruits.
This electric fungus gnat and insect killer takes a different approach. A UV LED lighting system lures flies and other insects towards an electrified inner grill, where a 2,300V charge does the rest. The 4W LED glow covers a full 360 degrees and protects an area of up to 10m², and a protective safety grill keeps fingers safely away from the electrified surface.
Compared to fly paper or chemical sprays, an electric zapper is a low-maintenance, chemical-free way to keep gnats and other flying insects under control. Low power consumption and a removable, washable collection tray make it cheap and easy to run long-term.
